James Bond is known for driving some pretty flashy cars, but as far as we know, there has never been an SUV amongst those lucky chosen few. However, that could be because James Bond has yet to see the 2024 Encore GX. For South Carolina drivers looking to get behind the wheel of this stunning SUV and are on the hunt for a Rock Hill Buick dealer, we here at Williams Buick GMC invite you to cross the border and visit our dealership, conveniently located in Charlotte, NC.

The remodeled front end of the GX has a lot to do with its eligibility to play sidekick to the international man of mystery. All-new for the 2024 year, the GX has been given a serious glow-up, which is accompanied by more changes inside as well. An overhauled exterior makes the GX stand out even more than before, but it doesn’t end there. Inside, the interior of the GX is sleek, modern, and features an updated dash that enhances the whole atmosphere. Many new safety features and a few convenience features put the latest model ahead of the pack. What exactly do these changes mean? Let’s find out.

Three Trims, Unlimited Possibilities

The Buick Encore GX is available in three distinct trims, with each trim receiving a special grille insert. Checkmark headlamps embedded in the front end slice backward, creating a type of movement that leads your eyes away from the front and toward the rest of the vehicle. The front end is also branded with Buick’s all-new tri-shield badging, symbolic of the many great things to come.

The trims available for the GX have been changed up from the 2023 model year, another sign of the exciting changes. The base trim is still known as Preferred; nothing too different there. The next trim, which was once the Select, has now been donned, the Sport Touring, an exciting precursor to what can be found inside. The last trim, once known as the Essence trim, is now known as the Avenir, a quite distinguished name from its previous title.

Plenty of cool features have been added to increase the desirability of the already quite desirable GX. One such feature is a flat-folding front passenger seat. What is nice about this feature is that it folds completely flat so that the vehicle can accommodate long items for transport. If you have ever made a lumber run or tried putting a Christmas tree inside your car, then you can imagine how great this feature is.

The combination of convenience features, along with sophisticated design additions, make the 2024 a fantastic option at an affordable price. With so much class and opulence mixed in, you would think that the price tag would have seriously inflated. Thankfully, however, the Encore GX still maintains its rather affordable tag. With the 2024 base trim starting at a lower price than the previous year, it continues with one of its greatest appeals – affordability.

Tech to the Max

The 2024 gets an upgraded infotainment display featuring an extra wide screen. Although the previous year’s display was more than acceptable, the expansive new display is definitely a focal point. The display is spread out diagonally, giving the dash a modern look and providing easy touchscreen access to your favorite applications. The new 11-inch screen is alongside a larger Driver Information Center as well. Last year’s configuration came in at 4.2 inches, while this year’s is almost double at 8 inches, so you have a better display for important information.

Available wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto carry over from the previous year, providing connectivity without the mess of plugging in. The Buick Encore also offers available wireless charging for compatible smartphones, continuing the sleek and clean theme of the newly designed dash and center stack. Other features like the HD Rear Vision camera are from last year’s model as well, but with some upgrades. The camera is now high-definition for a clearer, crisper image, and an available washer keeps the camera sparkly clean for the best feed.

Drive Confidently With an Array of Safety and Driver-Assistance Tools

A simple yet extremely effective program that has been added for the 2024 model year is the Vehicle Health Management System, which monitors the vehicle and provides service updates as needed to keep your GX on the road for many miles to come. Safety comes in many shapes and sizes, so while this is a vehicle safety measure, Buick has also equipped the 2024 with plenty of new active safety features. The GX is keeping up with the times, and the following safety features prove that.

More and more safety features are becoming standard with each passing year, so it comes as no surprise that the 2024 Buick Encore GX has even more options than before. One of the latest additions is the nifty Buckle To Drive feature, which comes standard on all trims. This safety feature temporarily halts driving your car after ignition to remind you to buckle up if you aren’t already.

Rear Seat Reminder is another feature that provides helpful reminders of basic safety, ensuring that anything in the back is never left behind intentionally. Even though both model years offer a Rear Vision Camera, the 2024 takes it to another level with a Rear Cross Traffic Alert. This program monitors the rear of the vehicle when in reverse so that it can alert you if there is cross traffic.

Both the 2023 and 2024 models of the Encore GX offer Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, which will alert you if it senses you are leaving your lane unintentionally. The assist aspect comes in via wheel control, in which the system can gently steer you back into your lane if the warning is not headed and it is not sensed as a deliberate lane change. To support lane safety, the 2024 now sports Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert. This safety feature decreases the risk of lane change collision by alerting you to someone in your blind spot when switching lanes or if a vehicle is detected at an increased speed to your side.
